- To all the non-believers out there who reckoned that we wouldn't survive
- long, then here we are, issue 3 already!, and constantly expanding
- and improving all the time. More articles than before, more music, and a
- lot more besides.
-
- Some public domain libraries, no names mentioned, don't seem to be taking
- us seriously at the moment. We are here to stay, listening to constant
- criticism (yes there has been a bit, and just complete silence from
- others which doesn't help us one little bit). But after all, everyone
- needs criticism in order to improve things, so we are responding to the
- criticism positively. We know that we still haven't got everything right
- but we are trying to!
-
- I have taken a look at some of the competition, and personally I haven't
- really been impressed by any of them. Some of the 'others' are too
- elitist, i.e you have to be in a demo group or suchlike to be included,
- or the more serious magazines are so badly presented as to appear really
- bland. As far as I can see we are the only magazine attempting to offer
- entertaining as well as serious information on key computing subjects,
- such as music, and complete interaction with our readers in the form of
- our many reader orientated sections, such as Dmail, Computer Slag Board,
- and the Interactive Adventure.
-
- When you subscribe to Digital Disk you don't just become 'another
- reader', but a member of the Digital Disk team. You get your own user id
- to quote when you correspond with us, and part of the expanding Digital
- Disk community, which covers an increasing number of computers.
-
- Each issue we are trying to cram yet more onto the disk, just this month
- for Digital Disk Amiga I compacted all the graphics, the music, the
- code, and anything else feasible, onto the disk to provide yet more room
- for articles, programs, pictures, and even more music. I'm not
- stopping there either (he says while thinking about how he can fit even
- more on the disk) even the disk icons might be compressed!
-
- For PC owners at the moment I have a bit of bad news, which of course PC
- owners can only read if they've borrowed a friends ST or Amiga. Digital
- Disk PC has been temporarily suspended (ooh sounds a bit like being back
- at High School), but rest assured in a month or so's time you will be
- able to purchase the brand spanking new professional looking Digital Disk
- PC in the capable hands of a new Digital Disk team.
-
- Well without further ado here are the introductions to the team that look
- after your needs in their own capable way. The ids have changed a bit too
- this time, as the University where we all study, or at least that is our
- aim..., in their infinite wisdom decided to reverse their computer id
- system and so to avoid confusing us something chronic we've brought our
- system in line with theirs!
-
- ~~5Digital Disk Amiga EDITOR - David Cowell [Id:dc1am1 - Shadow Arrakis]
-
- After sweating blood (nearly) to write a new front-end for Digital Disk
- Amiga, only to be told by one PD library 'Well it ain't quite as good as
- a certain other disk magazines is it ?', was found cursing said PD
- library in his sleep.
-
- ~~6Digital Disk Amiga CO-EDITOR - Ben Coffer [Id:bc1am1 - Evolution]
-
- Has become so obsessed while writing Zooeys Adventure, that he can now
- only be found mentioning such inane thrases, such as 'Blib', and 'Wot a
- load of blibbles', and so has been taken away by the men in white coats.
-
- ~~5Digital Disk ST EDITOR - Steve Hill [Id: sh1st1 - 68k]
-
- Steves local area has seen many people fleeing after he was found
- praticing his No-can-do martial arts in the street. Thankfully though he
- didn't mistake his ST for a breeze block and so it survived.
-
- ~~6Digital Disk ST CO-EDITOR - Paul Hill [Id: ph1st1 - Pioneer]
-
- Paul, alias Karate Kid part 2, has also been terrorising the
- neighbourhood. But this time it just involved blaring out Bens tunes from
- the ST, so no worries there.
-
- At which point I leave things there, the valiant group four, who don't
- want to be known as group four by any means, are set to expand in the
- near future, and no that doesn't mean that Davids pregnant or something!
-
- Later on dudes (and dudesses of course). David [dc1am1-Shadow Arrakis]
-
- ~~3STOP THE PRESS NEW MEMBERS AHOY!
-
- This is to late to appear in DIGITAL DISK ST, but I thought I'd quickly add
- this bit to tell all the Digital Disk Amiga readers that we have two new
- staff members! They are >
-
- ~~5Richard Salter [Id: rs1am1 - Halibut]
-
- ~~5Russell Lemmon [Id : rl1am1 - Russell]
-
- I'll introduce them properly next issue so till then bye!
